Accepting donations for the library
The Stanisław Konopka Main Medical Library in Warsaw - in line with the vision of its founder and first director - wishes to fulfil the role of a modern special library functioning as a centre of scientific medical information and a museum. In 2025, the Museum of Medicine was incorporated into our structure to protect the material heritage of Polish medicine. These are primarily treasures still collected personally by our founder, for which we are striving to find suitable exhibition space. An important task is the expansion of the collection and the acquisition of further collections in the field of the history of health care and medicine, including mementos of our doctors.
We are therefore making an earnest appeal to all individuals and institutions that can support our activities. We are looking for file documents, diplomas, photographs, medical instruments and tools, engravings, portraits, plans, medals, badges, spa memorabilia, old medical prints, etc. These can be donated or sold. Any information on medical legacies requiring preservation will also be invaluable.
We also accept books on issues in medicine and related sciences, issued before 1945.
