Main catalogue
It contains information on serials and serial publications, irregular and serial Polish and foreign collective works acquired after 1.07.97 and material from previous years currently on loan. Periodicals are registered at the level of notebooks including all supplements.
For publications written in Cyrillic characters, transliteration is used.
Searches can be conducted by: title of the publication, person associated with the description (author, editor, translator, etc.), institution, event (congresses, symposia, conventions), subject heading, series, etc.
Central Directory of Foreign Periodicals
The Central Catalogue of Foreign Periodicals in Polish medical libraries is a nationwide database. The CKCZ includes the resources of 53 libraries: medical universities, the Central Medical Library and its 16 local branches, institutes of the Ministry of Health, the Polish Academy of Sciences and other centres with biomedical journals in their collections.
The catalogue contains information on 7464 journal titles and 1803 supplements introduced for the period 1990-2025.
Some libraries also entered data for earlier years or the entire collection.
Resources are registered at the journal level. Searches can be conducted by: journal title, ISSN, words contained in the title (word index), subject heading.
We do not use diacritical marks in the spelling of journal titles, and transliteration is used in Cyrillic titles.

Doctors' Personal Directory
A biobibliographical computer database created in the Department of Old Medical Books since 1992, based on materials from the Doctors' Personal File established by St. Konopka in the 1940s.
It contains more than 70,000 records. The database provides information on factual and bibliographic material relating to doctors, pharmacists, veterinarians and nurses based on the resources of the GBL's Old Medical Book Department.
The catalogue is located in the Reading Room of the Medical Books Department.

Catalogue of supplements
Includes information on supplements, which have their own title, numbering and pagination.
Until 1989, supplements were treated as compact publications and were given the signature of books.
Since 1990, they have been stored with the magazine and given its signature.

Alphabetical Book Catalogue
Until 1971, a bracketed catalogue.
Maintained according to the so-called Prussian instructions. The title entry was the first noun of the title (used in the first case).
From the 1972 edition onwards, a drawer catalogue.
Bibliographic description and cross-referencing carried out according to generally accepted principles.

Alphabetical Directory of Periodicals
Arranged alphabetically by original journal title.
When the title is changed up to 1996, a cross-reference appears; after 1996, the revised (current) title appears in the main entry.

Subject Book Catalogue
Up to the 1971 edition - bracketed.
Contains descriptions of publications organised according to the entries of St. Konopka's „Dictionary of Entries in Medicine and Related Sciences”.
From the 1972 edition onwards, a drawer.
It contains descriptions of publications organised according to the entries of the „Dictionary of Entries in Medicine and Related Sciences” developed at GBL based on the MeSH dictionary of the MEDLARS system.
Central Catalogue of Old Medical Books
The Central Catalogue of Old Medical Books is part of the Medical Digital Library project underway at the General Medical Library. The catalogue covers all medical prints, published between 1801 and 1945, held in the GBL's storerooms
All old prints are kept in the warehouse of the Old Medical Book Department, located at 1A Jazdów Street in Warsaw. Books and journals are available in the Reading Room of the Department of the Old Medical Book from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Currently, the catalogue only includes book items.
The journal catalogue is available in card form at the GBL's Old Medical Book Department (telephone information is also available at 22 622 50 05 - Reading Room) and at the GBL's headquarters at 22 Chocimska Street (22 849 78 51 - Book Collection Building Department).
